This place makes incredible burritos (and tons of other great Mexican food) in a city of incredible burritos. The al pastor is insanely good, the tortillas are incredible (and I think slightly toasted at some point before being handed to you?), the salsa bar is fantastic, I could go on and on. The avocado salsa verde is especially delicious. Close to the beach, you can grab a burrito and walk down to Tourmaline in 5-10 minutes. Long story short, why are you still reading this and not stuffing your face with some of the best burritos in San Diego???

Get the El Rey burrito. Top tier. I’d say Michelin level. Generous portions, fresh well-toasted tortillas, tender carne asada, real cheese. The best.

Was a little hesitant to have breakfast from here because we weren’t feeling like having Mexican food. But it was sooooo yummy. We ordered the shrimp quesadilla and breakfast burrito with a side of large fries. The portions are ginormous so we had to pack half of it so keep that in mind. Everything tasted good. The green salsa was my favourite. The place is clean and the people are friendly too. Loved it.

I sort of feel like I have to write this review because I have enjoyed the hashbrown breakfast burrito 5 out of the last 5 days. I'm not bragging about this. But it does speak to the quality and consistency of the burritos. I've had some of the other burritos from here as well, and they are also good. But wow, how easy it is to slide into the routine of those hashbrown breakfast burritos. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. 5/5 days.

new fave burrito spot!!!!!! got the hash brown breakfast burrito, carne asada mulita and bean and cheese burrito. BC was so good and not too salty like other places. the carne asada was amazing. the tortillas are truly so delicious!! cannot wait to try more menu items ...

Unique tortillas that is almost crepe like. They have good quality meats. The asada is made of steak cuts and it’s smokey, would highly recommend.

Everything tasted so well seasoned. I loved my tacos and my wife enjoyed her sopas. I judge Mexican restaurants by their horchata and this one was well spiced and not gritty at all. Definitely would visit again.

BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. It was so good that we went here for dinner twice on a six day trip. The al pastor and the carnitas meat plates were to die for. I also had the limonada agua fresca, also amazing. One of the highlights of this restaurant is the large 32oz side of refried beans. Please see the menu and the photos for how large this is. As a huge refried bean enthusiast this really excited me so I had to purchase it obviously. This will for sure be my go to Mexican restaurant in San Diego if I ever return for an extended stretch of time. I can only hope that it will always be here!
